These natural hairs are used for popular hair extensions. Since it takes about 50 grams of hair to create one extension, we are talking about enough hair to make 3.5 million extensions. Ayumi Hamasaki, age 29, (in photo above) is thought to be the fashion leader for this hair extension trend. She is Asia's version of Madonna and has sold about 50 million records. The price of hair from China has gone up 50% from last year. It's 'a seller's market' now. Demand is much greater than supply. It takes almost three years to grow hair 65 centimeters, the standard minimum for hair extensions.
